Open Retail

Overview

Open Retail is an operations-focused platform built to support internal teams and field agents responsible for onboarding and managing retail businesses. The web application served as the primary tool for internal users to register retailers, place orders on their behalf, and oversee daily business operations, while a separate mobile application handled the retailer-facing experience.

The Challenge

The main challenge was designing an internal tool that could handle complex operational workflows while remaining fast and intuitive for field agents working in real-world conditions. The platform needed to support multiple user roles, ensure data accuracy, and provide backoffice visibility into the entire retail operation.

The Process

01

Built and maintained internal web interfaces used by field agents to onboard retailers, manage profiles, and place orders on behalf of merchants.

02

Developed backoffice dashboards that allowed operations teams to monitor onboarding progress, order activity, and overall business performance.

03

Implemented role-based workflows to support different internal users, including field agents and administrative staff.

04

Focused on reliability, performance, and clarity, ensuring the platform worked smoothly in low-bandwidth and high-usage scenarios.

The Outcome

The platform became a central operational tool for Open Retail’s internal teams, enabling efficient retailer onboarding, accurate order management, and improved visibility across the business. Field agents were able to complete tasks faster, while backoffice teams gained better oversight and operational control.
